POSTING FMS NOTIFICATION OF A CHANGE TO THE PREREQUISITE TRAINING FOR ACCESSING ORACLE FINANCIALS
Dear colleague,
You are receiving this email because you hold a key role in new employee onboarding and assisting faculty, staff and student employees with accessing Stanford’s financial tools. There is an upcoming change to a common prerequisite course and we ask that you take a moment to learn about the change and update your materials and internal processes accordingly.
What’s Changing?
On Jan. 3, 2022, Stanford Financial Management Services (FMS) will launch a new STARS course, Financial Stewardship Expectations (FIN-PROG-0020), which will become the new prerequisite training for accessing Oracle Financials systems (e.g., Expense Requests, PCard, Labor Distribution) and OBI reporting. This new course will completely replace the Financial Confidentiality Agreement (FIN-PROG-0010) STARS course.
While the previous course mainly covered managing confidential and sensitive information, the new course covers confidentiality and additional concepts that ensure the appropriate use of university resources in support of our mission and in compliance with university policies, government or sponsor regulations, and donor intent.
Action Requested:
Effective Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, please use the new Financial Stewardship Expectations (FIN-PROG-0020) course instead of Financial Confidentiality Agreement (FIN-PROG-0010) on your employee onboarding checklists and other materials as the prerequisite course to access Oracle Financials systems. While there will be redirects in place to guide new learners to the right course, we want to provide the smoothest onboarding experience as possible.
